---- — Dover — The Western Boone tennis team has three freshmen in their starting lineup. But after Wednesday afternoon's blowout win over Delphi 5-0, you wouldn't be able to tell that nearly half the team were making their varsity debuts. "We had three freshmen making their varsity debuts today that played very well," Western Boone head coach Dustin Cunningham said. "Korbin Lough came out at three singles and dominated his match early. He went into a little lull, but came over to me during the changeover and said 'he isn't going to win another game,' and his opponent didn't. He worked through it and good for him. The two doubles team of Gus (Holdorf) and Zach (Prickett), they came through it and we have a bunch of things for them to work on, but it was good for them to get that first one underneath their belt and good for us to get started on the right foot." Cunningham said with a young lineup, it was important to get the first win out of the way. "It was very important for us," Cunningham said. "We have one more match (today) and then conference. So getting them experience early is huge. Hopefully they can carry that into the conference season." At No. 1 singles, Jacob DeBard topped Elliot Atkinson 6-3, 7-5.
