Lebanon reclaims Sagamore title

After suffering a tough one-shot loss at the Sagamore Conference Meet a year ago, the Lebanon Tigers girls golf team was looking to re-establish their conference dominance that they have had in recent years. The Tigers did just that Saturday at Crawfordsville Country Club, shooting a 354 to win the conference title by 49 shots. The title was the Tigers fifth in six seasons. "It feels really good to win it," Lebanon head coach Mick Milakovic said. "I am really happy for the girls. They played a really nice round today. They shot a 354, which is a school record for us on this course." Last season, the Tigers shot a 365 and lost to North Montgomery by a single stroke. With a young team, Milakovic is happy with the way the team has progressed so far this season. "It absolutely shows how much the girls have improved," Milakovic said. "Starting out the beginning of this season, I really didn't know what they could do. But they have improved so much and the credit goes to not only Abby (Messenger) as our leader, but the young girls for believing in what we have been talking about and working hard in practice."
