Tigers score twice in second half to top Stars

For the first half Thursday afternoon, there wasn't much that separated the Lebanon and Western Boone boys soccer teams. But the second half was a different story. The Tigers scored early and late in the second half to beat their county rivals 2-0. "The first half we didn't play very well," Lebanon head coach Ryan Tucker said. "We were doing some of the same stupid things and making errors that we were making earlier in the season. At halftime we talked about how we couldn't make those errors and they did a better job in the second half — that is why they pulled it out." For Western Boone, the Stars were in a good position at halftime tied 0-0. But the hosts were unable to get anything going toward the Tigers' goal in the second half. "We were right there at the end of the first half," Western Boone head coach Mike Schlemmer said. "You have to give credit to Lebanon. They are a very well-coached team. They executed their game plan very well and we just didn't." Both teams had a couple of chances to score in the first half, but did not capitalize.
