Tigers look to contend for Sagamore crown

The Lebanon Lady Tigers soccer team lost three of their top four scorers from a year ago, but that hasn't lowered the hopes of the team for the upcoming fall season. Head coach Rachel Becker said her team is deeper than she thought it might be heading into the season, raising the hopes for the Tigers. "This group has a lot of depth, which is really exciting," Becker said. "Coming into the season, we weren't really sure we would have that just because we lost a lot of leadership from last year. But from day one, these girls have stepped in and brought a lot of skill out to the field, a lot of dedication in our preseason work and we have some good soccer players out here." The Tigers lost leaders Katie Curtis, Alexis Kersey and Nina Wornhoff due to graduation. Those three girls accounted for 34 goals and 18 assists a season ago. But Becker said the way they have built the program has allowed new leaders to step up quickly. For more of this story, read Thursday's Lebanon Reporter.
