The Lebanon wrestling team had a strong showing at the Shamrock Duals in Westfield Saturday afternoon.
The Tigers placed fifth, going 3-2 on the day. Lebanon only lost to eventual team champion Ben Davis and third-place Fishers.
"I thought our kids wrestled hard and they definitely got better throughout the day, which is what we have been trying to stress throughout the season," Lebanon head coach Derek Bocock said. "I saw improvement throughout the whole program today, so that was encouraging."
After losing to Ben Davis 41-28, Lebanon beat Northwest 77-4. Fishers narrowly defeated the Tigers 35-30, before Lebanon topped Northview 54-30 and Terre Haute South 39-33.
Bocock said that it was good for the team to end the tournament with two wins.
"Wrestling Terre Haute South and getting a win is really good momentum for us," Bocock said. "This is the first tournament for us this year where we had matches all day. This is a big growth for us in terms of building off what we did today. We like having multiple matches in a day, that helps our kids get momentum."
