Lebanon senior Jackson Bennett always thought he would be playing college baseball one day.
But at Thursday afternoon's signing ceremony, where Bennett signed a letter of intent to play baseball at Vincennes University, it still hadn't sunk in.
"It kind of feels unreal," Bennett said. "I am still processing it. I have worked hard for it, and I have always thought it was going to happen, but even when it did it kind of caught me by surprise. But it feels great."
Bennett said Vincennes was the main school interested in my, but that the University of Indianapolis showed some interest after Bennett attended a camp there.
Still, Vincennes stood out for him.
"I liked that it was a two-year program, so there is more of a guarantee for me to play," Bennett said. "I would rather go there and play then go to a four-year school and get redshirted. I also like that they had the major that I wanted and it is a good program."
