Local teams fare well at conference

---- — It was a good day for the Boone County wrestlers Saturday at the Sagamore Conference Tournament.

Lebanon and Western Boone combined to win six of the 14 weight classes and had another three runners-up on the day.

Lebanon placed second as a team with 214 points. North Montgomery won with 243.5 points.

"I thought overall it was better than we wrestled early in the week against Zionsville," Lebanon head coach Derek Bocock said. "This tournament allowed us to get some really good matches in and I think our guys got into a flow and rose to the occasion. I was happy overall with how we did."

Western Boone tied for fifth with 130 points.

"We made a goal as a team to come in and get a fifth-place team finish," Western Boone head coach Kyler Kearby said. "And that is what we were able to do. As far as that goes, I am pleased."
