North Montgomery pulls away late from Tigers

Linden — The Lebanon and North Montgomery baseball teams were tied at six after three innings Thursday night in their Sagamore Conference game.

But, while the Tigers were unable to capitalize on their scoring opportunities in the second half of the game, the Chargers did and earned a split in the two-game series with an 11-6 win.

“I think that although we came back early in the game, we gave them some runs they probably shouldn’t have had early,” Lebanon head coach Rick Cosgray said. “There were three words I talked to the kids about after the game — effort, execution, and believing. All of those things have been good for us all year long and the one that failed us tonight was execution. It was stuff we worked on yesterday in practice, but unfortunately when it came time to do it, we did not do it early.”

The execution problems haven’t been a problem throughout the season for the Tigers.

Cosgray said it is something that just happens occasionally in the midst of a regular season.
