WeBo’s Williams chooses Marian

Dover — Western Boone senior Hannah Williams has made her college decision.

The Star infielder signed to become a Marian Knight next year.

“I am definitely a lot more relaxed now,” Williams said. “I am happy with my decision and can’t wait to be a Knight.”

Williams said she chose Marian over Trine, Ohio Dominican and St. Joseph’s.

“It is a really relaxed and they are a great program with a great group of girls,” Williams said of Marian. “I am just ecstatic to be a part of it.”

The Knights finished last season 36-14 and advanced to the championship game of their conference tournament under 10th-year head coach Scott Fleming.

Marian has gone 278-123 under Fleming. Williams, who had 10 stolen bases for the Stars last season, said that Fleming liked her speed.

“I stood out because I have a little more speed than he is used to and he is looking to transfer that to the team,” Williams said.

Williams, who played third, second and shortstop for the Stars last season will most likely play second base at Marian.
