Tigers end WeBo's unbeaten streak

The Lebanon Tigers tennis team headed west on IN-32 Thursday afternoon to face rival Western Boone. The Tigers left their rivals courts victorious, handing Western Boone their first loss 5-0. "It is always good to keep that undefeated in the conference," Lebanon head coach Brad Mustin said. "But we want to work on executing our game plan more." Western Boone switched their lineup up, moving normal No. 1 and No. 2 singles players David James and Jacob DeBard to No. 1 doubles. The No. 1 doubles team of Jason Smith and Connor Corwin moved to No. 2 doubles, and the normal No. 2 doubles team of Gus Holdorf and Zach Prickett played No. 1 and No. 2 singles respectively. "We just aren't there yet," Western Boone head coach Dustin Cunningham said. "Our No. 2 and 3 singles competed well. The scores aren't going to show it, but they had good rallies. Zach Prickett did a really good job at No. 2 singles keeping balls in play, but when it got down to crunch time, Raghuram (Srinivasan) cranked it up and did things you expect a senior to do and my freshman didn't counter and his mistakes showed up. Korbin Lough looked like he physically got tired which kind of shocks me because he has had a couple of long matches this year. Those two were impressive and Gus Holdorf just had to take a blunt of a four-year senior in Sam Godby." Godby defeated Holdorf 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles. Srinivasan defeated Prickett 6-1, 6-0 and Grayson Heinbaugh defeated Lough 6-2, 6-0. For more of this story, read Friday's Lebanon Reporter.
