Stars win fourth straight game

The Western Boone Lady Stars soccer team returned to their home pitch after a two-week road trip Thursday afternoon when they hosted University. The return to familiar surroundings helped the Stars continue their impressive play of late, as they scored three-first half goals and cruised to a 4-0 win. "We have really been trying to stress capitalizing on the chances that we get," Western Boone head coach Jen Foxworthy said. "We were happy to see the girls pounce on those first couple of chances and capitalize. Rachel Ramey served up just two great balls over the defense and we were able to have people capitalize." Western Boone got first half goals from Ashley Hieston, Mackenzie Hoffman and Camryn Savage to take the 3-0 lead. The first two came off of free kicks which Ramey placed perfectly for assists. "I think free kicks are a strength of our team," Foxworthy said. "More than that even, people making runs and having forwards and midfielders follow them up. I think we have more goals from being aggressive and running through the ball — no matter what it looks like it is going to do. We are putting people in the right position." From there it was all up to Stars' defense. For more of this story, read Friday's Lebanon Reporter.
