Lebanon’s 10U All-Stars win District 3 title

West Lafayette — The Lebanon 10U All-Stars captured the District 3 Championship by defeating host West Lafayette 5-4 Tuesday night.

With Michael Reese on the mound, Lebanon fell behind early 3-0 on three errors and a walk, but then battled back to tie the game on Cade Morton’s single in the bottom of the second inning.

Lebanon posted two more runs in the fourth to secure the lead for good. West Lafayette tried to rally in the sixth inning, but Nick Nies closed the game out as West Lafayette failed to bring the tying-run across.

Jarrett French had two hits, two runs and an RBI to lead the Lebanon offense. Harker, Reese (double) and Cade Morton each had two hits and Reese, Luke Ferrell and Daniel Hood all scored runs.

Morton led the way with two RBIs and Hood also batted in a run.

Reese pitched four innings, giving up three hits and three runs (one earned). He struck out five and walked two.

Nies got the save, pitching the final two innings and giving up two hits and a run.

He struck out two and walked none.

Reese finished a perfect 3-0 on the mound during District play and Garrett Harker led the offense with a .778 average.

The win advances Lebanon into the Indiana 10U state tournament in Dyer July 28 through Aug. 2.
