The annual Lebanon Area Boys & Girls Club auction is shaping up to be one of the most successful fundraisers in the club’s history, said Michele McQueen, interim director.
This year’s auction is preceded by a chili sampler. Six local restaurants — The Milky Way, Brenda’s Cubbard, Arni’s, Bekah’s Westside Cafe, Parky’s Smokehouse and The Fig Tree — will bring their chili, and people can get a serving of each kind. There will also be a grilled cheese bar. The silent and live auctions will follow dinner. Items to be auctioned off include one hour of football training for four kids, a trip for four to Crooked Stick Golf Club, a 1954 Milan High School state championship autographed basketball, a Peyton Manning autographed Denver football, an Andrew Luck autographed jersey, Indiana Pacer tickets, Indianapolis Colts sideline tickets and casino packages.
New this year is the location of the event. The auction will be held at the Lebanon Elks Lodge instead of the club, which will be open for ticket holders to tour.
“We want the kiddos to come and hang out and see what programs are offered and what you can do at the Boys & Girls Club,” McQueen said. “It’s a way to give people the opportunity to come check out what’s going on here.”
