The body of a missing Zionsville man was found Wednesday morning on private property near Eagle Creek and Creekside Nature Park around Sycamore Street and Zionsville Road in Zionsville.

No foul play is suspected in the death of Todd Ryan Terew, 33, who was in a wooded property on the outskirts of Creekside Nature Park, Zionsville Police Chief Robert Knox said.

Terew was reported missing by his brother, Peter Terew on Saturday. Todd Terew was last seen at 4:30 p.m. June 14, walking east on Poplar Street toward the Zionsville Village.

Knox said he did not know the time of death.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if it was soon after he was last seen,” Knox said.

The body was found by three cadaver dogs from Camp Atterbury, which were called in at 8 a.m. Wednesday after bloodhounds attempted to locate the man on Monday.

“The dogs are trained to smell actual dead tissue,” a police canine official said. “The dogs’ heads would go up every time we passed an open area and had a breeze. That’s what triggered us to check the other side (of Eagle Creek).”
