Whitestown Police Department Lt. Ed Savage has been promoted to captain and named chief of staff, WPD Chief Dennis Anderson told the Whitestown Town Council Tuesday.
Det. Sgt. Scott Ralston is promoted to lieutenant, Anderson said. That sergeant position is being left vacant temporarily, he said.
When a WPD officer who is now at the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy completes his training there, and is cleared for road patrol, the department will look within its ranks for someone who would like to be a detective, Anderson said. That person would work toward the sergeant position.
The promotions also create a public safety officer vacancy, Anderson said.
