Roberta L. Brown
Roberta L. Brown, 84, Tarpon Springs, Fla., formerly of Lebanon, died Thursday, May 8, 208, at her home in Tarpon Springs.
She was born May 25, 2008, in Indianapolis, to Claude A. and Alberta L. Kunze Miller.
She married Lloyd a. Brown in Indianapolis on June 28, 1941, and he died in 1990.
She graduated from St. John’s Academy for Girls in Indianapolis in 1940. She and her husband moved to Lebanon in 1954, where they lived until his retirement. They then moved to Florida. She spent the past 18 summers in Lebanon. An accomplished artist, she painted all of the stations of the cross and several statues that, for many years, were at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lebanon, where she was a member. She also was a gifted seamstress.
She worked at RCA in Indianapolis, and at Montgomery Wards and Stewart Warner in Lebanon. Hobbies included playing cards, fishing, shell crafts, reading and dancing.
She is survived by sons Donald T. (Mikell) Brown, Lebanon, and Richard L. (Jane) Brown, Philippines; a daughter, Lois A. Baker, Lebanon; seven grandchildren, Laura Carney, Jeff Brown, Tim Brown, Chris Brown, Daniel Baker, Kimberly Caputo and Rene Graves; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Claudia Paul, Brownsburg, and a brother, Eugene Miller, Indianapolis.
Friends may call at Russell & Hitch Funeral Home, 223 N. Meridian St., Lebanon, from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with a special rosary service at 8 p.m. at the funeral home that evening.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Father Tim Kroger officiating. Burial will be in Lincoln Memory Gardens in Boone County.
