Margery F. Davis
Margery F. Davis, 85, of Colfax, passed away early Friday morning, May 9, 2008, at Schuyler County Nursing Home, where she had been a resident the past six months.
Mrs. Davis was born October 12, 1922, in Colfax, the daughter of John T. and Irene (Cook) Fleming.
She married Robert D. Davis on November 26, 1950, in Colfax. Mr. Davis passed away in June of 1999.
Mrs. Davis attended elementary and high school in Colfax, graduating in 1940. Following graduation she worked as a switchboard operator for the Colfax Telephone Company and Westinghouse Electronic in Indianapolis. She was a secretary for General Motors in Indianapolis for seventeen years, before retiring because of health reasons.
She was a member of the Elkhart Travelers Camping Club, Hickory Homemakers and Boone County Extension Homemakers.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Drury & Leppert Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the mortuary, the Reverend J.K. Stevens officiating. Interment will take place at Plainview Cemetery in Colfax.
Survivors include son, Robert Joe Davis and fiancé, Rhonda Rowland, of Queen City; two grandsons, Tracey Michael Davis and Steven Joel Davis of Lafayette; and one great-granddaughter, McKenzie Davis.
Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and two sisters, Mary Webb and Lorene Clouser.
