Kathleen “Kathy” Sutton
Kathleen “Kathy” Sutton, 47, of Lebanon, passed away early Wednesday, May 14, 2008, in her home in Indianapolis, where she had resided for the past six months.
Mrs. Sutton was born on Jan. 13, 1961, in Ft. Thomas, Ky., to the late Carl Beckerich and Patricia (Lane) Babel. She was a lifelong resident of Lebanon, only recently moving to Indianapolis. She graduated from Lebanon High School in 1979. Mrs. Sutton was married to Bruce Leslie Sutton III on May 20, 1980.
She was a dedicated homemaker to her family and supportive friend to chat with. Mrs. Sutton enjoyed her dogs, traveling, fishing, crafts and sporting events. For a time Mrs. Sutton was employed at the Lebanon Middle School — she deeply enjoyed touching the lives of our community’s youth. She and her husband owned and operated B&K Distributing from 1981 to 1990. From 1998 to present they have owned their company, Stereo Advantage, located in Indianapolis.
Mrs. Sutton was exceptionally devoted to her faith — she was always sure to read daily devotional Bible verses each morning with her husband. Mrs. Sutton enjoyed speaking with groups and individuals about how God and faith assisted her through her six-year battle with cancer. She also had a large collection of frogs; she lived by the acronym Fully Rely On God (F.R.O.G.). She was an avid member of the Lebanon Trinity Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her husband, Mr. Bruce Leslie Sutton III; two sons, Mr. Adam Lane Sutton and wife, Lindsey, of Indianapolis, and Mr. Brandon James Sutton of Indianapolis; father, Mr. Arthur Henry Babel of Lebanon, and one sister, Mrs. Jennifer Elizabeth (Babel) and husband, Mark.
Mrs. Sutton was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia (Lane) Babel and one son, Bruce Leslie Sutton IV.
Visitation will be Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 10 a.m. in the Trinity Lutheran Church, 2625 Elm Swamp Road, Lebanon, with Pastor Scott Mauch officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.
Arrangements entrusted to the Drury & Leppert Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Visit the Web site www.druryleppertmortuary.com to sign Kathy’s online register, leave a personal message, or make a memorial contribution to Habitat for Humanity through Trinity Lutheran Church in Lebanon.
