Gary Howard Waite

Mr. Gary Howard Waite, 66, Lebanon, died Thurday, July 17, 2008, at home of natural causes following an extended illness.

Mr. Waite was born in Pontiac, Mich., on July 29, 1941. He was the son of the late Howard Harold Waite and Helen I. (Jarrett) O’Neil, who survives.

He was married in Fayette on May 11, 1968, to Wilma May Sharp. Mrs. Waite died on Sept. 4, 2005.

Mr. Waite lived in Indianapolis and Carmel and graduated from Carmel High School in 1959. He served in the United States Navy. He returned to Indiana and moved to Boone County near Lebanon where he had resided for many years.

In Indianapolis, he was employed as store manager for BAP Geon Automotive specializing in foreign automotive parts supply. He then served as parts director for Dreyer Reinbold Infiniti until he retired in 2004.

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and worker. Mr. Waite enjoyed his family, friends and activities. He particularly enjoyed motor sports having been an avid Formula 1 fan. He liked bicycling, motorcycles, and snowmobiling.

He attended and enjoyed the Connection Pointe Christian Church in Brownsburg.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Myers Chapel of Memories, 1502 North Lebanon St., Lebanon, with the Rev. James Littlejohn officiating.

Visitation will be held at Myers Mortuary from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Myers Mortuary.

Interment will be at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Marion County, Indiana.

Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Helen I. O’Neil, Palmetto, Fla.; five children, Mrs. Theresa A. Burruss and husband, Jeffrey, Lebanon, Mrs. Kathy A. Smith and husband, David, Lebanon, Mr. Jody M. Waite and fiancée, Jennifer Guenther, Indianapolis, Mr. Matthew R. Waite and wife, Kim, Mooresville, and Mr. Philip S. Waite, Indianapolis; a sister, Mrs. Terri Stergar Methier and husband Jeff, Phoenix, Ariz.; none grandchildren, Damon Reynolds, Lebanon, Amber Wilson and husband, Layton, Eugene, Ore., Kyle Larsh, Lebanon, Kaylee Larsh, Lebanon, Ava Smith, Lebanon, Brittan Smith, Jamestown, Kelsey Waite, Mooresville, Andy Waite, Mooresville, and Alex Waite, Greenfield; one great-granddaughter, Ruby Wilson, Eugene, Ore., and two nieces, Caitln Furer and Michaela Furer, both of New Paltz, N.Y.

An infant grandson, Jay E. Reynolds, is deceased.
