1907-2009
Opal Irene Frazier, 101, of New Ross, died Saturday, July 25, 2009, at Avon Health and Rehab.
She was born Nov. 3, 1907, in Putnam County, daughter of Robert and Cora McCloud Stewart; they preceded her in death.
She and her husband, James, were members of Harvestime Fellowship Church for many years and were contributors to its founding.
She was a homemaker and loved to write poems about people, especially her grandchildren. She loved to raise chickens and make homemade butter and cottage cheese.
Surviving are daughters, Patty (Woody) Woodrum of North Salem, Marge (Joe) Stultz of Greencastle and Joyce (Art) Thomas of North Salem; sons, Ted (Marilyn) Frazier and Ron (Leslie) Frazier, all of North Salem; and sister, Ruth Wethington of Ladoga; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and several stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Frazier and four sisters and four brothers.
Friends will be received 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Porter Funeral Home, 103 S California St., North Salem. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Art Thomas officiating.
Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery in North Salem.
