Betty J. Newman

Fort Smith, Ark.

1939-2008

Betty Fairfield Newman went to be with her Savior on Saturday, July 26, 2008. She was born Oct. 7, 1939, in Thorntown, the daughter of the late Charles and Evelyn (Strong) Fairfield. She moved to Fort Smith, Ark., in 1985, was a dedicated Christian, and an active member of Evangel Temple Assembly of God. She had many friends and was always helping those in need.

She will be sorely missed by two daughters, Debby Lollar of Lebanon, and Alicia Akins of Fort Smith;, son Robert “Rick” Newman of Mammoth Spring, Ark.; six grandchildren, Duane and Dusty Lollar, Shaun and Ryan Elliott, and Seth and Kory Newman; Six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jewel Moody of Frankfort, and Linda Beaman of Lebanon; and brother James Fairfield of Lebanon.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Chapel, 4534 N. U.S. 52, Thorntown.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Chapel.
