Dennis R. Trent Sr.

Mr. Dennis R. Trent Sr., 56, of Advance, died Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009, at his residence.

Mr. Trent was born Aug. 4, 1953, in Lebanon, a son of the late Jesse and Helen Ferguson Trent.

He married Kris Hoskins on April 3, 1992. She survives.

A farmer for many years, Mr. Trent also worked at Co-Alliance in Advance.

Surviving are his sons, Dennis Trent Jr. of Lebanon, Dewayne Trent of Ladoga, Joshua Hoskins of Brownsburg and Jacob Hoskins of Advance; brother, James Trent of Florida; sisters, Joyce Pittman of Indianapolis, Margaret Litteral of Danville, Karen Wray of Roachdale, Peggy Branham of Illinois and Bonnie Walters of Georgia; and 11 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Darla James; and brothers, Jerry, Melvin, Gene and Raymond.

Friends will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Advance Community Christian Church, 305 Main St., Advance. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with Pastor Art Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in the Jamestown I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Jamestown.
