Letha Gail Mullikin


— Letha Gail Mullikin, 88, of Lebanon, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2012, at Homewood Health Campus in Lebanon.

Letha was born Jan. 14, 1924, in Fulton County. She was the daughter of the now late Clifford and Lillian Lucille (Stanley) Baggerley. She was reared and educated in Fulton and LaPorte counties, where she was a 1942 graduate of Fulton County High School. She attended Methodist Hospital School of Nursing, and achieved her RN in 1945.

She married Donald Wayne Mullikin on Dec. 23, 1947, in Frankfort. Mr. Mullikin passed away on May 29, 1968.

Letha worked as a surgical nurse at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon until her retirement in the late 1980s.

She was a member of the Mechanicsburg Christian Church.

A person devoted to her family, Letha was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her family and was proud of each of them. Besides her family, important activities in her life included quilting, crossword puzzles and reading.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Homewood Health Care and Great Lakes Hospice for the outstanding care and compassion shown to Letha and to all of the family.

Survivors include four children, Kathleen M. (James) Taylor of Clarks Hill, and Patricia A. (James) Garland, D. Wayne (Carol) Mullikin and Nancy (Victor) Lalas, all of Lebanon; one brother, Arlo D. (Doris) Baggerley, D.V.M., of  Loyal, Wis.; two sisters-in-law, Marjorie (Bill) Ewing of Midland, Mich., and Sue Mullikin of Lebanon; 12 grandchildren, Donald W. (Tracey) Taylor, Danielle M. Taylor, Brian Dodson, Debi Dodson, Robert Garland, Bryan (Julie) Garland, Jamie Garland, Melissa G. Mullikin, Jessica D. (Travis) Kaiser, Natalie (Aaron) Smith, Krista (Ricky) Ray and Mitchell Lalas; and 18 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three grandchildren, Erica Rae Taylor, Jason Garland and Abigail Mullikin.

Visitation is 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 9, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Myers Chapel of Memories, with Pastor Josh Purdy officiating. Interment will follow at the Hopewell Cemetery in Lebanon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
