---- — Mrs. Susan Rebecca “Becky” Bishop, 83, of Lebanon, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis.

Rebecca was born in Danville, Ky., on July 9, 1930, a daughter of the now late John Sebery Howard and Rowena (Sexton) Howard Leffew. She was raised in Danville, Ky., and moved to Indiana in the early 1970s.

On April 30, 1976, she was married to her second husband, Dexter Bishop, in Lebanon. Mr. Bishop survives.

Rebecca had worked at several nursing homes in the Lebanon area and for the Blue & White Truck Stop. In addition, she worked at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon, where she prepared dinners for Meals on Wheels. She retired in 2003.

She was a member of Covenant Community Worship Center in Lebanon, where she worshiped God and loved her church family.

Rebecca loved spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed reading her Bible, working puzzle books, watching TV and playing cards. Rebecca was also very fond of her dogs.

Survivors include husband, Dexter Bishop of Lebanon; four children, Ray S. (Carol) Tate of Morehead, Ky., Barbara A. (Richard) Manning of Junction City, Ky., Diane (Cleve) Bishop of Lebanon and Sonya J. (Rick) Blankenship of Jamestown; son-in-law, Carlos L. Bishop of Jamestown; sister, Elizabeth Rowland of Danville, Ky.; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and she was expecting her first great- great-grandchild in July.

Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, James Howard; a sister, Helen Rowena Rowland; a daughter, Debbie L. Bishop; and a grandson, Shawn Ray Tate.

Visitation is noon to 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Myers Chapel of Memories, with Pastor Matt Skiles officiating. Interment will follow in the Lincoln Memory Gardens in Boone County.
