Martha Lou Scobee

Martha Lou Scobee, 95, of Kirklin, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014, at Countryside Meadows in Avon.

She was born on Oct. 9, 1918, in Montgomery County. She was the daughter of the now late Glenn and Sallie (Clark) Scott.

She was a 1936 graduate of Bainbridge High School and a member of the Kirklin Assembly of God. She married Marvin K. Scobee on Sept. 16, 1939, and he preceded her in death on July 16, 1993.

Martha was blessed with a full life and lived on her own until December 2013. She enjoyed her family and church, and was known for her “can do” attitude.

Martha is survived by her two sons, Robert E. (Lorraine) Scobee of Perrysburg, Ohio, and James M. (Lorene) Scobee of Brownsburg; a daughter, Sharon L. Kiser of Lebanon; seven grandchildren, Jeff Scobee, Steve Scobee, Eric Scobee, Tamme Kercheval, Rob Scobee, Scott Asher and Kimberlee Davis; 23 great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two grandsons, Greg Asher and Mark Scobee.

Services will be held at the Kirklin Assembly of God on Saturday, Feb. 22, at 1 p.m., with visitation from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Kirklin. Pastor Jeremy Turner will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be presented to the United Network of Organ Sharing.

Kercheval Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
