---- — Mr. Phillip Gene Spencer, 62, of Lebanon, passed away Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, at Morgantown Health Care in Morgantown.

Phillip was born Oct. 24, 1951, in Frankfort, a son of the now late Wayne and Peggy J. (Farris) Spencer. He was raised in Lebanon and attended Lebanon High School.

On Sept. 5, 1969, he was married to Mary J. Dodson in Lebanon. They later divorced.

For many years, Phillip managed Charlie’s Auto Sales of Lebanon. He later was self-employed as a car wholesaler.

In addition to his family, Phillip enjoyed playing cards, playing the guitar and anything that had to do with cars.

Survivors include his son, Stephen J. Spencer of Lebanon; daughter, Amy D. Spencer of Colfax; two siblings, Mike Spencer of Georgia, and Joyce VanFossen of Lafayette; brothers-in-law, Danny V. (Paula) Dodson and Jack C. Dodson, all of Lebanon, and Jessie James “Skipper” Dodson of Attica, Ohio; sister-in-law, Betty Ann (Rick) Underwood of Denver, Colo.; six grandchildren, Ashlie Spencer, Stephen Spencer, Lindsey Spencer, Austin Mohr, Tyler Mohr and Joseph Snell; and several nieces and nephews, including Mark C. Dodson and his two children, Mya Yvette and Emily Mae Dodson.

Visitation is 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, March 8, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Memorial services will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday at Myers Chapel of Memories, with Jack Bland officiating. Burial of ashes will follow services at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.
