Linda L. Young

Linda Lou Young, 66, of Zionsville, died Feb. 21, 2014, at Zionsville Meadows. She was born Nov. 9, 1947, in Roachdale to the late Vitus and Susie Mae (Clements) Clemens. She attended North Salem High School. Linda married Robert W. Young on March 5, 2007, after a 40-year engagement; she wanted to make sure he was the right one for her.

Her hobbies included sewing, reading and cooking. She loved and cared for her family as a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband; children, Robert (Erin) Young, James (Justine) Young, Susan (William) Canner and Angie (Brian) Christian; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; a brother Jackie Devon Clemens; and sisters-in-law Mable Louis Clemens, Janet Clemens and Sue Lathrop. She was preceded in death by siblings David Joe Clemens, Barbara Lynn (Alvin) Davis, Rosemary (Dave) Davis, Wilma Jean (Charlie) Whetsel, Richard Mathew Clemens, Buddy Jerome Lathrop, Vitus Mathew Clemens Jr., Violet Marie Clemens and Juanita Mae Clemens and one grandchild.

Family and friends will gather from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, at the Thorntown Baptist Church, 120 S. Powell St., Thorntown, IN 46077, and the Rev. Denver Fields will officiate the service beginning at 2 p.m. Burial to follow in the Browns Wonder Cemetery in Lebanon. Online condolences may be made at www.strawmyerdrury.com.
