Stacy L. King, 42, of Lebanon, ended her earthly journey on Sunday, March 2, 2014, at St. Vincent Hospice facility.
She was born Dec. 22, 1971, to Ron and Sandra Walker of Indianapolis. Stacy graduated from Decatur Central in 1990. She earned her associate degree from Florida College, and then went on to obtain her bachelor’s degree from IUPUI.
Stacy married Greg King of Lufkin, Texas, in 1993, in Camby. In their almost-21 years of marriage they had two children, Shelby, now 14, and Mitchell, now 11.
Stacy taught at Deer Run Elementary in Pike Township until Shelby was born. It was her desire to be a homemaker and focus on raising her children.
Stacy was a faithful member of the Jamestown Church of Christ.
One of Stacy’s favorite places in the world is Midwest Summer Camp at Shakamak State Park in Jasonville. The highlight of her year was being there — 10 years as a camper and 17 years as a counselor. MSC is a non-profit summer camp run by Christians, to help the youth of Indiana and surrounding areas. In lieu of flowers, it was Stacy’s desire that memorial contributions be made to Stacy King Memorial Fund, c/o Midwest Summer Camp, 5330 W. 25th St., Speedway, IN 46224, to help children who need financial assistance for camp.
