Richard Lee “Rick” Neese


— Mr. Richard Lee “Rick” Neese, 66, of  Lebanon, passed away Monday, June 10, 2013, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

Rick was born Jan. 9, 1947, in Lebanon, a son to the now late Chester Ovid and Mary Jane (Mace) Neese. A lifelong resident of Lebanon, he graduated from Lebanon High School in 1965.

He was first married to Marcia Ann Hays Neese, and they divorced. He then was married to Evelyn L. (Tyree) Ferguson Neese; they divorced as well. For the last 16 years, he spent his time with a loving fiancée and caregiver, Cynthia Diane (Barrett) Hemmerling.

Rick had worked for Commercial Filters. For a period of time, he owned and operated his own semi. For 23 years, he was the manager of Lebanon Feed & Grain, and during that time he farmed for John King.

He then went to work for E & R Manufacturing as a machine assembly and service technician in Kirklin, until his retirement in September 2009.

He was devoted family man, enjoying the time he spent with his family and his loyal dog and companion, Buddy. In his free time he enjoyed fishing and woodworking.

Survivors include his fiancée, Cynthia D. “Cindy” Hemmerling of Lebanon; two children, Jeffery R. Neese of Ashville, N.C.; and Traci T. Neese of Indianapolis; two brothers, Ronald E. (Marilyn) Neese of Lebanon and Donald O. (Sheila) Neese; two sisters, Ellen (David) Johnson and Robin S. (Glen) Rabanus, all of Lebanon; brother-in-law, Eugene Johnson of Lebanon; grandson, Richard A. “Richie” Neese; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Rick was preceded in death by a sister, Wilma Jane Johnson.

Visitation is noon to 2 p.m. Thursday, June 13, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Myers Chapel of Memories.

Interment will follow at Browns Wonder Cemetery in Lebanon.
