Mary F. Carter

Mrs. Mary F. Carter, 94, of Lebanon, passed away Dec. 12, 2013, at Signature Healthcare at Parkwood, in Lebanon.

Mary was born Oct. 26, 1919, in Whitestown, a daughter of the now late Claude and Myrtle (Raider) Cline. Mary graduated from Whitestown High School. She was married to Wayne Carter in 1968. He passed away in 1981.

Mary worked for many years at Dow Chemical as a lab technician. Mary enjoyed making afghans, working in her yard and attending to her flowers, playing cards and doing puzzles.

Survivors include her daughter, Linda (Art) Massing of Lebanon; grandchildren, Penny (Gary) Bombie and Jay (Susan) Wood, all of Lebanon; great-grandchild, Sage Wood; and great-great grandchildren, Mili Mock and Lillian Gregory. Mary was preceded in death by her first husband, James D. McClaine; a sister, Marjorie Creasy; and a brother, Clete Cline.

Family and friends will gather from 4 until 8 p.m. today, Dec. 13, for visitation, and services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Mary will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.
