Donna L. Gott

Mrs. Donna Lee Gott, 86, of Vincennes, formerly of Lebanon, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes.

Donna was born Nov. 24, 1927, at her home in Montgomery County. She was a daughter of the now late Harold and Lydia Myrtle (Phipps) Tanselle. She graduated from Dover High School in 1946, and lived most of her life in Lebanon.

On Dec. 15, 1946, she was married to Lee Murray Gott Jr. in the Rev. Raymond Duff’s home near Dover. Mr. Gott passed away on Feb. 8, 2004.

Donna enjoyed the holidays and loved spending time with friends and family — especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved playing Bingo and she was an avid Indianapolis Colts and Indiana Pacers fan.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the VFW Auxiliary, both of Lebanon.

Survivors include two children, Ronald L. (Carolyn) Gott of Okemah, Okla., and Cindy (Thomas) Smith of Vincennes; son-in-law, Jack Marshall of Lebanon; four brothers, Erval Tansel of Crawfordsville, Donald Tanselle and James Tanselle, both of Lebanon, and Merlin Tanselle of Brenham, Texas; seven grandchildren, Jennifer (Jeff) Babek of Meeker, Okla., Douglas Gott of Wylie, Texas, Steve (Dyan) Marshall and Craig Marshall, all of Lebanon, Brian (Monica) Marshall of Ft. Hood, Texas, Daniel (Mallory) Haney of Monroe City and Heather (Ryan) Thomas of Martinsville; and four stepgrandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 15 stepgreat-grandchildren.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents and her husband; two daughters, Jacqulin Gott and Christy C. Marshall; and two sisters, Eleanor Coons and Naomi Partner.

Visitation is noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Myers Chapel of Memories, with the Rev. Jacob Netherton officiating. Interment will follow services at Shannondale Cemetery in Montgomery County.
