James M. Wall

Mr. James Marion Wall, 81, of Clinton, formerly of Lebanon, passed away Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, at Vermillion County Convalescent Center in Clinton.

Mr. Wall was born Feb. 7, 1932, south of Lebanon, on his mother’s family farm. He was the son of the now late Ralph Dennis and Francis Levica (Linton) Wall. He graduated from Pinnell High School in 1950.

Following school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served his country honorably from 1951 to 1955. After his service in the military, he returned to Indiana and attended Purdue University on the G.I. Bill. Mr. Wall married Twyla L. Small in 1952, and they later divorced.

He was an electrician by trade, and he owned and operated J & B Electric in Lebanon for many years.

Mr. Wall was a charismatic man with a joke to tell and a twinkle in his eye. He made lifelong friends wherever he went. He enjoyed traveling, piloting, telling jokes, and spending time with his loved ones. He was adored by many and will be missed dearly by all.

He was a member of Boone A. & F.M. Lodge #9.

Survivors include three children, William Dennis (companion, Jan Petsch) Wall of Lebanon, Marcia E. (Steven) Hunt of Sullivan and Daniel (Kim) Wall of Upland; 14 grandchildren, Josh Garey, Kristy Cross, Sean Herron, Dezere’ Eggers, Melissa Harmon, Robert Hunt, James Hunt, Rachel Hunt, Joshua Hunt, Jennifer Terry, Nikki Wall, Megan Wall, Aaron Wall and Lezlie Wall; and 24 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his former wife, Twyla Wall; his brother, Ron Wall; a daughter, Laura Herron; a son-in-law, Larry Herron; a granddaughter, Lezli Herron; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Myers Chapel of Memories. Interment will follow services at Browns Wonder Cemetery in Boone County.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
