Mrs. Mildred Grace Boyland, 96, of Mechanicsburg, died Monday, April 8, 2013, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.
Mrs. Boyland was born Oct. 2, 1916, in Hendricks County, the daughter of the now late William Raymond and Mary Gladas (Harlan) Lowe. She attended schools in Boone County.
On Nov. 15, 1937, she married Harry Thomas Boyland in Lebanon. Mr. Boyland passed away on July 30, 1988.
For 23 years, Mrs. Boyland was employed at Shumate Business Forms in Lebanon, retiring in 1982. For a number of years, she also worked as a cashier at the Mechanicsburg Drive-In Theater.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family, crocheting and cooking.
Mrs. Boyland was a member of Mechanicsburg Christian Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Sally Paddack of Colorado Springs, Colo., Mary Ellen Neal of Columbus, and Martha Alexander of Kingman; son-in-law, Max Harrison of Lafayette; one sister, Joan (John) Copeland of Lebanon; and 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 29 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mildred was preceded in death by three brothers, Bob Lowe, Jim Lowe and Bill Lowe; a sister, Josephine Clements; a daughter, Carolyn Harrison; three sons-in-law, Richard Paddack, Jim Neal and Robert Alexander; two great-granddaughters; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 11, at Myers Chapel of Memories, with the Rev. Josh Purdy officiating. Interment will follow at the Pleasant View Cemetery west of Lebanon.
