James Robert Tyree

Mr. James Robert Tyree, 63, of  Lebanon, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, at his residence.

Jim was born in Frankfort, on Aug. 13, 1949, a son of Laverne (Kinslow) Tyree and the late William “Bill” Tyree.

At a very young age, Jim lived in Glasgow, Ky. When he was around six years old, he and his family to Lebanon, where he has since resided.

He married Audrey Mae (Burdine) Stogsdill on Sept. 7, 1975, in Lebanon. They had recently celebrated 37 together.  Mrs. Tyree survives.

Jim worked at various places of employment, and had been a truck driver for Charlie Batts Trucking for 20 years. Most recently, he worked for Ray’s Trash Service.

He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed his family, taking pride in his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Audrey M. Tyree of Lebanon; his mother, Laverne Tyree of Lebanon; six children: Carolyn Decker of Martinsville, Lee (Tina) Stogsdill of Mooresville, Danny Stogsdill of Indianapolis, Larry (Laura Kay) Stogsdill of Lebanon, Patty (Rick) Henson of Indianapolis and Mary (Steve) Goodwin of New Jersey; two brothers, Wayne Tyree of Glasgow and Bill Tyree of Lebanon; three sisters, Dorothy (Paul) Kincaid, Mary (Jack) Maddox and Ruth Ann (James) Tyler, all of Lebanon; several grandchildren including, Toby Stogsdill of Mullberry and Larry Stogsdill Jr. of McBurgs; and several stepgrandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

 Jim was preceded in death by a daughter, Retha Kennedy, and a sister, Evie Neese.

Visitation is 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 17, at Myers Chapel of Memories. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
