Colleen Coffman Craven

Colleen Coffman Craven, 82, of Tipton, died Monday, June 10, 2013, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Tipton.

Ms. Craven was born March 29, 1931, in Colfax, to Frank and Nurmal (Shy) Coffman, both now deceased. She attended Thorntown and Colfax Schools.

She married Donald E. Craven in Portland, Ind., on Aug. 12, 1949. He died Oct. 8, 1999.

Ms. Craven retired from Mallory’s (Emerson) after 39 years.

She was a member of the Baptist Church in Thorntown and Poplar Grove United Methodist Church in Kokomo. She also was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Her hobbies included gardening, painting and ceramics.

Preceding her in death were two brothers, Norman of Thorntown and Ora of Colfax.

Survivors include two daughters, Rita (Chris) Sloan of Sharpsville and Janet (James) Corbit of Kokomo; two sons, Carey Craven of Frankfort and Donald D. (Gayla) Craven of Santa Clara, Calif.; and 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held at Russell & Hitch Funeral Home in Thorntown on June 14, 2013. The Rev. Bud Moody officiated. Interment was at Plainview Cemetery in Colfax.
