Jerry A. Ditzenberger

Mrs. Jerry Ann Ditzenberger, 78, Zionsville, died May 27, 2013. Jerry was born Dec. 11, 1934, in Terre Haute, to the now late Herman Lee and Genevieve (Baugh) Mattox.

Jerry is best known as a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend. Her family was a significant part of her life. Her hobbies included crocheting, reading, sewing, cooking, traveling, and entertaining family and friends.  

Her gift was her ability to touch each person’s life whom she met through her selfless and caring personality. Her compassionate nature for others was never-ending. Whether a neighbor, a close friend or a family member, Jerry was always there to help. It was truly her gift.

She had a continuous and great devotion for her family. Jerry is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Dale A. Ditzenberger; daughter, Carolyn (Don) Allen; son, Dwaine (Taffy) Ditzenberger; brothers, Larry (Della) Mattox and Rick (Freddie) Mattox; five grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of family, relatives and friends.

Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 30, at Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park North, 2706 Kessler Blvd., West Drive, Indianapolis. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 31, at the funeral center. Burial will be in Washington Park North Cemetery.
