Dorothy Glendenning, 76, of Dallas, Texas, formerly of Lebanon, passed away Sept. 26, 2012.
She was born on Nov. 30, 1935, in Boone County, the youngest of 12 children of Earl Kouns and Bessie (Mills) Kouns, both deceased. She was reared in the Rosston area and attended Whitestown High School.
Dorothy married Robert (Bob) Glendenning in Lebanon, and they later divorced. She worked for many years at Stewart-Warner in Lebanon and after relocating to Dallas worked at the Playhouse until her retirement. She was a lifelong member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 910 in Lebanon.
Dorothy enjoyed returning home to Indiana for visits each year, especially enjoying time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren that she loved very dearly, and also visiting with extended family and friends in the area. She loved playing card games with family and friends, including her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved watching the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers.
She is survived by significant other Travis Turner of Dallas; daughter Barbara (Jim) Greene; grandson Tony Greene (Kelly); granddaughter Kristi Greene (Randy) and great-grandchildren Charli Greene, Josi Greene, Tanner Greene and Karis Scott of Lebanon. Other survivors include sister-in-law Betty Kouns of Montezuma; and several nieces and nephews: Linda Dennis of Advance, Jill Miller (Gene), Norma Kouns of Lebanon, Bonnie Kouns of Clinton, Beverly Morgan (Gene) of Jamestown, Ky., Pam Kouns of Kirklin, Larry Kouns (Suzanne) of Farmersville, Texas, Judy Coffelt (Garry) of Chattanooga, Tenn., Marsha Morgan of Knoxville, Tenn., Ronnie Wren of Mesquite, Texas, Gary Kouns of Montezuma, Denise Hughes of Lake Arrowhead, Calif., Kevin Kouns, Laguna Niguel, Calif., Christina Smith of San Clemente, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings Everett Kouns, Paul Eugene (Gene) Kouns, John (Tom) Kouns, Ralph Kouns, Donald Kouns, Harry Kouns, Richard (Dick) Kouns, Mildred (Kouns) Wren, Thelma Kouns, Alice (Kouns) Wren, Mary Louise and nephews Steve Kouns, Stan Kouns and Denny Kouns.
Graveside services will be held at Rosston Cemetery on Nov. 3, at 11 a.m.
