Rhonda Grace Chatman, 42, of Lafayette, formerly of Lebanon, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, at St. Elizabeth East Hospital in Lafayette.
Rhonda was born Nov. 16, 1971, in Lebanon, a daughter of Darlene L. (Rutledge) Chatman and the now late Samuel E. Chatman. She was reared and educated in Lebanon, and graduated with the class of 1990.
She was married to Dominick L. Strafaci; he survives.
A longtime resident of Lebanon, Rhonda spent a short period of time in Oak Forest, Ill. While in Lebanon, she worked as a CNA at Parkwood Healthcare.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Rhonda enjoyed her family, especially spending time with her granddaughter and cooking.
She attended St. Damian Roman Catholic Church in Oak Forest.
Survivors include her mother, Darlene L. Chatman of Lebanon; husband, Dominick L. Strafaci of Lafayette; son, John C. Lewis Jr. of Lebanon; eight siblings, Samuel D. (Susan) Chatman of Evansville, Jeffrey L. Chatman of Lebanon, Denise L. Chatman of Frankfort, Daniel E. Chatman of Greenfield, Kimberly S. (Jeffery) Rodgers of Lebanon, Raymon’ S. Chatman of Lafayette, Sarah E. (Eric) Pratt of Lebanon and Ashley L. (Timothy) Nelson of Thorntown; granddaughter, Avery E. Grace Lewis of Lebanon; and several nieces and nephews.
Rhonda was preceded in death by her father and an infant child.
Visitation is 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 22, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Myers Chapel of Memories, with Father Timothy Kroeger officiating. Interment will follow services at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.
