Thomas L. Goss Sr.

Mr. Thomas L. "Tom" Goss Sr., 77 of Whitestown, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013, at his residence. Tom was born in Roane County, Harriman, Tenn., on April 5, 1936, a son of the now late Clyde Goss Sr. and Mary (Morris) Goss. On Sept. 23, 1967, he married Audrey Frances (Dean) Kirby in Lebanon. Mrs. Goss passed away on Oct. 25, 2006. For 42 years, Tom worked at Wreck’s, Inc., as a clerk at the auto parts store. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Tom enjoyed his family, as well as tinkering with cars. He was a member of Lebanon Rock Church. Survivors include his son, Jesse (companion, Patricia Cunningham) Goss of Pendleton; six stepchildren, Charles M. (Patricia ) Kirby of Fort Myers, Fla., David H. (Susie) Kirby, Bobby R. (Diana) Kirby and Gary L. (Tonya) Kirby, all of Lebanon, Kay F. (Sam) Traylor of Martinsville and Sue (companion, Jim Templin) Kirby of Constantine, Mich.; two brothers, Earl Goss and Franklin Goss, both of Tennessee; sister, Betty Goss of Tennessee; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Tom was preceded in death by his parents and his wife; sons, Timmy L. Goss, Michael Goss, Frank Goss and Thomas L. Goss Jr.; a stepson, Larry N. Kirby; four brothers, Bert Goss, Clyde Goss Jr., Jimmy Goss and John Goss; and three sisters, Mary Goss, Minnie Goss and Martha Goss. Visitation is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Myers Chapel of Memories, with the Rev. Matt Skiles officiating. Entombment will follow services at Lincoln Memory Gardens in Boone County. Memorial contributions may be made to Lebanon Rock Church, 504 E. Elm St., Lebanon, IN 46052.
