---- — Mrs. Josephine A. "Jo" Solomon, 86, of Lebanon, passed away peacefully Oct. 8, 2013, at her home, with her family by her side. Josephine was born Dec. 16, 1926, in London, England, a daughter of James and Charlotte (Burgess) White. She was married to William R. Solomon on April 21, 1946, in London. He died Sept. 23, 2007. Josephine worked for the Boone County State Bank for 27 years, retiring in 1989. She was a member of Kappa Delta Phi Sorority, life member of Kent Chapter 117 Order of the Easter Star, Lady Elks and was a volunteer at Witham Hospital in Lebanon. She lived by the Golden Rule, loved her family unconditionally and truly had a servant's heart, always putting others needs before her own. Jo was a true cockney, a native of East London traditionally born within the sound of the Bow Bells. Our Nannie Jo will be greatly missed. She is survived by her children, James Larry Solomon of Lebanon, Wayne R. (Linda) Solomon of Weir, Kan., and daughter, Joy E. (Bob) Pollock of Lebanon; grandchildren, Scot (Ann) Solomon of Danville, Jarod (Katie) Pollock of Lebanon, Jocelyn (Neil) Taylor of Lebanon, Kelly (Larry) Prater of Lebanon, Shane (Carrie) Solomon of Indianapolis, Heather Solomon of Sheridan and Specialist United States Army Infantry Zach Solomon of Ft. Polk, La.; great-grandchildren, Ella and Eli Taylor, Mallory, Hallie, Lucy Josephine and Lainie Prater, Aeryn, Denarys and William Solomon, Jay and Jillian Pollock. She was expecting great-grandson number 12. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Rose Brown; and brother, James White. Family and friends will gather Monday, Oct. 14, for visitation from 10 a.m. until time of services at 12 p.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon, with Hope Wade officiating. Mrs. Solomon will be laid to rest at Browns Wonder Cemetery in Lebanon.
