Beth A. Maiden

Beth Ann Maiden, 57, of Normal, Ill., formerly of Lebanon, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013. Beth was born May 8, 1956, in Lebanon, a daughter of the now ate Herbert T. “Tommy” and Beulah (Gibson) “Boots” Griggs. Reared and educated in Boone County, she graduated from Lebanon High School in 1974. On Aug. 31, 1974, she was married to John K. Maiden in Lebanon. Mr. Maiden survives. Beth and her husband lived in Lafayette for five years prior to moving to Chalmers. In 1999, they moved to Normal, where she had since resided. For 35, Beth worked for the State Farm Insurance Company for both Indiana and Illinois offices. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. Beth loved her family tremendously, and was especially fond of her grandchildren. She enjoyed vacationing with her family and cooking. Survivors include her husband, John K. Maiden of Normal; two daughters, Laura (Joseph) Allen of Danville and Julie Payne of Normal; sister, Janet Ramsey of Holland, Mich.; four grandchildren, Evan Allen, Dane Allen, Olivia Payne and Braxton Payne. Beth was preceded in death by her parents and a brother-in-law, Charley Ramsey. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, at Myers Mortuary Lebanon, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, at Myers Chapel of Memories, with the Rev. Greg Berkey officiating. Interment will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 8, at the Ladoga Cemetery in Ladoga. Contributions may be made in Beth’s honor to Northwestern University Memorial Foundation, 251 E.
