Roscoe Kenneth Lamphire,

Mr. Roscoe Kenneth Lamphire, 73, of Lebanon, died Friday, June 24, 2011, at The Gathering Together in Plainfield.

Mr. Lamphire was born Feb. 17, 1938, in Edinburgh, the son of the now deceased James and Cora (Webber) Lamphire. He was reared and educated in Edinburgh, where he attended Edinburgh High School. He served in the Indiana National Guard following school, from 1956 to 1962.

He was married to Lois Lamphire, and she passed away. Later, he married Dolly May Clark on May 25, 1990, in Lebanon; she died Oct. 8, 2004.

Mr. Lamphire began his employment with Witham Hospital in 1965. He worked there until his retirement in 2003.

Survivors include two stepdaughters, Linda (Randy) Schwersenska of Martinsville and Dorothy A. Richardson of Lebanon; one stepson, Larry (Barbara) Richardson of Lebanon; and 11 stepgrandchildren and several stepgreat-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by daughter, Nancy Lamphire; sister, Judy Lamphire; and three brothers, James Lamphire, Jerry Lamphire and Billy Lamphire.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 27, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, June 28, at Myers Chapel of Memories, with Chaplain David Clayton officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.

Memorial contributions may be made to Advocate Hospice or the Boone County Cancer Society.
