Teresa Marie (Curran) Edwards

Mrs. Teresa Marie (Curran) Edwards, 87, of Lebanon, died Friday, May 24, 2013, at St. Vincent Seton Specialty Hospital in Indianapolis.  

Teresa was born Feb. 8, 1926, in Marion County to Leo and Ethel (Crosby) Curran, they are deceased. She was married to Garland Edwards in Pierre, S.D. in 1944. He died Nov. 6, 2002.

Teresa was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and held the position of “special Eucharistic minister;” she was also a member of the St. Joseph ladies auxiliary, a 50-year member Beta Eta chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, 46-year member of the Boone County Cancer Society of which she was president for 18 years, a charter member of the Witham Hospital Volunteer program and she worked for Shumate Business Forms for 17 years.

Survivors include her children: Sarah (Willie) O’Bryan of Lebanon, Kathleen (JR) Servies of Lebanon, Ellen (Dave) Fox of Brownsburg, Joyce (Harold) Shirley of Lebanon, Robert (Amy) Edwards of Lebanon, Richard (Gladys) Edwards of Lebanon, Susan (Gary) Hensley of Lebanon and Rebecca (Charlie) Hood of Lebanon. Twenty-two grandchildren: Debbye (Ron) Hatton of Holt, Mich., Steven Maillet of Pittsboro, Kristy (Jon) Huse of Lebanon, Matt (Mala) Servies of Carmel, Nick (Eilise) Servies of Eugene, Ore., Michael (Lisa) Fox of Fishers, Joe (Amy) Fox of Indianapolis, Emily (Scott) Abbott of Brownsburg, Daniel (Kerri) Shirley of Lebanon, Bobby Edwards of Lebanon, Melissa Edwards of Indianapolis, Zachary Edwards of Lebanon, Rick Edwards of Lebanon, Kelly (Mike) Wingerter of Lebanon, Kary Hill of Lebanon, Samuel Hensley of Bloomington, Paul (Lisa) Hensley of Lebanon, Brian Hensley of Lebanon, Tom (Megan) Hood of Lebanon, Chuck (Tifanie) Hood of Lebanon, Holly (Jack) Hale of Lebanon, and Amy Bautista of Lebanon; six stepgrandchildren: Theresa (Steven) Blubaugh of Frankfort, Bill Shirley of Lebanon, Brenda Barrett of Mooresville, Scott (Susan) O’Bryan of Indianapolis, Shana (Brian) Irwin of Lebanon and Melody (Jim) Brown of Indianapolis; 41 great-grandchildren; 19 stepgreat-grandchildren and one stepgreat-great-grandson. Siblings James J. Curran of Kokomo and Elizabeth Clade of Indianapolis. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers, Leo J. Curran, Francis J. Curran and Joseph G. Curran; sisters, Mary F. Fish, Bertha Sego, Joan Molchan and Agnes Dillow; and two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Family and friends will gather from 4 to 8 p.m. today, May 28, for visitation, with a Rosary at 3:30 p.m., in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 29, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 319 E. South St., Lebanon. Mrs. Edwards will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Boone County Cancer Society, 117 W. Elm St., Lebanon, IN 46052. This was Teresa’s charity of choice because of her longtime commitment to the organization.
