Jeffery L. King

Jeffery L. King, 57, of Thorntown, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.

Jeff was born May 8, 1953, in Indianapolis, where he was reared and educated. He graduated from Indiana University, having earned a bachelor’s degree.

He met Pamela Elaine Switzer in high school, and they married on July 15, 1972.

His hobbies included fishing, spending time with his family and anything to do with IU basketball. Jeff worked in sales and marketing most of his career.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela King of Thorntown; children, Travis Michael (Caira) King of Crawfordsville and Carrie Anne (Barry) Gillan of Thorntown; grandchildren, Kyla King and Chloe Gillan; and his sister, Candy West.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley King, and brother, Daniel King.

Family and friends will gather from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. The service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the mortuary. Jeff will be laid to rest in the Sugar Plains Cemetery in Thorntown.
