Betty Jo Wingate


— Betty Jo Wingate, 77, of Lebanon, died Friday, July 5, 2013, at Witham Memorial Hospital.  

Betty was born Feb. 7, 1936, to Clarence and Edna Mae (Strong) Wetherald. Both parents are deceased. She was married to Billy Joe Wingate. They were divorced.

Betty was retired from Delco Electronics in Kokomo, after 30 years of service. She enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing and most of all she loved her beloved bulldogs. She was a member of Church of the Nazarene of Lebanon.

Survivors include her children: Joyce Anne (James) Wheeler of Texas, Richard Joseph Parrish of Lafayette, Janice Marie (Mark) Carter of Kokomo, Rhonda Jean Storer of Warsaw, Michelle JoAnne Wright of West Lafayette, Tami Riddle of Noblesville and Melissa Dawn (Kevin) Stone of Omaha, Neb.; brothers: Donald Paul, and Clarence Thomas Wetherald; 20 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Marcia Jane Lazzatti; siblings: Billy Ray Wetherald, Robert Eugene Wetherald and Donna Rae Randle.

Family and friends will gather Monday, July 8, for visitation from 5 p.m. until time of services at 7 p.m. at Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon, IN. Pastors Kevin Stone and Richard Burdett will officiate.  Mrs. Wingate will be laid to rest at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Thorntown.
