---- — Harry Wesley Barnett, 84, of Lebanon, formerly of Sheridan, died Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

He was born May 16, 1929, in Clinton County, to Paul Barnett Sr. and Mayme (Morton) Barnett, both deceased. Harry was raised on a farm in Clinton County, and graduated with the class of 1947 from Sugar Creek High School in Pickard.

Harry married Barbara June Wolfe on Nov. 19, 1955, in Antioch. Barbara preceded him in death on March 22, 2009.

Harry was a lifelong farmer after serving in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1952. While in the Army, Harry served with the 101st Airborne in Germany. After leaving the service, Harry farmed in Clinton County. He then moved north of Sheridan, where he farmed until the mid 1990s. He retired and moved with Barbara to Lebanon in 1996, to be closer to their family.

Harry was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Survivors include son, Terry (Susan) Barnett of Lebanon; granddaughter, Meredith (Jake) Federle of Rushville; grandson, Chase (Andrea) Barnett of Huntersville, N.C.; brothers, Paul (Belva) Barnett Jr. of Kirklin and Richard (Patty) Barnett of Sheridan; brother-in-law, Charles (Mary) Wolfe of Lebanon; and several nieces and nephews.A sister, Mary Catherine Amos, preceded him in death.

Visitation is 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, at Kercheval Funeral Home, 306 E. 10th St., Sheridan.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 9, at the funeral home, with the Rev. V.J. Stover officiating.

Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Frankfort.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Indiana Talking Book and Braille Library; or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
