Gregory Alan Bannister


— Mr. Gregory Alan Bannister, 49, of Frankfort, died Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at his residence.

Greg was born May 19, 1964, in Lebanon, a son of the now late Ernest David and Ruth Jean (Burkman) Bannister. He attended Pike High School in Indianapolis.

He married Sallianne “Sally” Thomas on April 2, 1988, in Indianapolis. Mrs. Bannister survives.

Greg moved from Indianapolis to Whitestown, living there for 10 years and before moving to Frankfort, where he had since resided. He worked at Underwood Transfer Company as a driver/rigger for 25 years.

A devoted husband, father and grandfather, Greg loved every moment spent with his family. He enjoyed collecting John Deere memorabilia.

He was a member of Hillisburg Christian Church in Hillisburg and Mid America Threshers Club in Tipton.

Survivors include his wife, Sally Bannister of Frankfort; three children, April D. (Justin) Krowel of Indianapolis, Nicole Bannister of Lebanon, and David Bannister of Frankfort; stepson, James R. Ward of Indianapolis; two brothers, Gary (Denni) Bannister of Whitestown, and Curtis (MaryAnn) Bannister of Frankfort; and seven grandchildren, Haylah Wilson, Jacob Wilson, Travis Wilson, Alicia Wilson, Abbigail Krowel, Madison Ward and Lucas Ward.

Visitation is 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 14, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 15, at Myers Chapel of Memories, with Pastor Mike Flowers officiating. Interment will follow at Lincoln Memory Gardens in Boone County.
