Mr. Paul Russell “Rusty” Chapple, 66 of Lebanon, died Friday, June 21, 2013, at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon.
Rusty was born Sept. 8, 1946, in Indianapolis, a son to the now late Paul Howard and Mildred Lucille (Bradley) Chapple.
Reared and educated in Indianapolis, Rusty graduated in 1967 from Arlington High School. Following high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country honorably during the Vietnam War.
He was first married to Frances (Russell) Chapple and they divorced. He then married to Ivadean (Brown) Chapple and they divorced as well. On Oct. 20, 1978, he married to Linda Sue Detamore in Lebanon, she survives.
Following his service in the army, he returned to Indianapolis and worked as a dock employee for McLean Trucking Company. He worked there until they closed in the 1980s. He then drove a box truck until his retirement in 1995.
A devoted family man, Rusty especially enjoyed his grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time with his coffee club and bowling leagues.
Survivors include his wife, Linda S. Chapple of Lebanon; three children, Billy Lane and Brenda Chapple, both of Indianapolis, and Rachelle K. (Phillip) Tyree of Lebanon; brother, Joseph F. “Joe” Chapple of Indianapolis; sister, Jacquelyn A. “Jackie” Chapple of Pendleton; sister-in-law, Barbara Chapple of Pendleton; and two adopted daughters, five grandchildren, 10 stepgrandchildren, one great-grandchild, three stepgreat-grandchildren, a niece and two nephews, and five great-nieces and -nephews.
Rusty was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Howard “Bob” Chapple.
Visitation is 9 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Myers Chapel of Memories. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.
