Virginia “Ginny” Jones

1936-2012

Virginia “Ginny” Jones, peacefully passed away July 20, 2012 in the presence of many of her family including grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ginny was born in 1936 in Dover, Ohio, to Harry G. and Dorothy G. (Neptune) DeCroes. The family moved to Lebanon in 1940, due to the death of her grandfather. She attended Center Ridge and Lebanon High School. She graduated from Lebanon High School with honors in 1954.

Shortly after graduation she married Carl E. Jones, and they had four children, Carl E. Jones Jr. (Karen) Jones, Gary (Mary) Jones and Ron (Robyn) Jones. Ginny and Carl were later divorced. She now has 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren (and growing).

Ginny’s extremely successful goal in life was to keep family together and friends close. She was loved by everyone who came in contact with her due to her loving nature, always present smile and laughter. Ginny will be missed. She is forever in our hearts and prayers.

Survivors include her sister, Geraldine DeCroes; niece, Cheryl (Gerry) Dunbar; nephew, Roy Shepherd; brother, Harry (Rosa) DeCroes; nephew, Rick (Jackie) DeCroes; and niece, Robin DeCroes.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Cindy Jones; niece, Brenda Schuppe; and great-grandson, Toby Jones.

The memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4th, at Grace Baptist Church, 4197 State St., Salem, OR 97301.
