Mrs. Elsie Maxine McIntyre, 94, of Lebanon, passed away Monday, June 17, 2013, at Signature Healthcare at Parkwood in Lebanon.
Maxine was born in Hendricks County on Dec. 1, 1918. She was the daughter of the late Charles Roy and Sadie (Warren) Faught. She was reared and educated in Pittsboro, and graduated from Pittsboro High School in 1937. She then moved to Lebanon after her marriage and resided there since.
She married James Henry McIntyre on Aug. 9, 1941, in Lebanon. Mr. McIntyre passed away on June 17, 1996.
Maxine was a receptionist for Dr. Dillon, and helped her husband at McIntyre Sinclair Service Station.
She was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church in Lebanon, and the Order of Eastern Star of Lebanon.
A person devoted to her family, Maxine was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her family, and was proud of each of them. She was a giving individual and was always helping others.
Survivors include two children, Larry R. McIntyre of Worthington and Alice J. (William) Aldous of West Chester, Pa.; five grandchildren, Brian R. McIntyre, Kristie McIntyre, Jamie (Duane) Miller, Joshua Aldous and April Aldous; and two great-grandchildren, Sadie and Bennett Miller.
In addition to her parents and husband, Maxine was preceded in death by two brothers, Ivan Faught and Lawrence “Bill” Faught.
Visitation is 12 to 2 p.m. Friday, June 21, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday at Myers Chapel of Memories. Interment will follow at the Sparks Cemetery near Pittsboro, in Hendricks County.
